Best Skate Shoes

Shoes are something a lot of skaters burn through pretty fast. But of course, some shoes will last longer than others. I will list some shoes, and explain what makes them good or bad. Of course, your opinion might be different. Although I do feel like this is a decent baseline for finding your next shoe.

The Importance of Skate Shoes

You could skate regular shoes, but they will get destroyed super fast. They also wont give you the support you need for skating, and they have to potential of hurting your foot easier. It's almost necessary that you get some sort of skate shoe though.

1. Etnies Michelin Marana

Etnies Michelin Manara

This shoe is my personal favorite. Prices will vary from $102 to $80, but they go on sale for $60-$40 all the time. It will last you a lot of time, especially if you use shoe goo to keept them fresh. The outersoul of the shoe (the bottom) is made out of Michelin rubber, which is the same company that makes car tires. It was originally made to withstand Ryan Shecklers high impact. But that doesnt make it any less of an amazing option for regular skating on rails and ledges. The shoe itself is slightly bulky, although there is a slim version which is a slip on. The laces last a decent amount of time as well, but they will go out before the shoe is destroyed.

2. Nike Nyjah 3's

Nike Nyjah 3

Another good shoe option is the Nike Nyjah 3's. Priced at around $115. They're newer as of the time of this article. The shoe is extremely light weight, and it has a ton of grip as well. The rubber outsole isnt just for traction though, it also provides good durability for the shoe. The shoe itself is flexible but also supportive, which is a very nice feature. They added a plastic heel clip and a lace wing for even more durability. Overall, this shoe is a very solid option

3. Vans Half Cab's

Vans Half Cab's

The third option im gonna talk about, is the Vans Half Cab. This shoe will cost rougly $85. The shoe was made with the most progession in mind. They have a "Sickstick" grip to get the best grip. The outside of the shoe is made of a suede and canvas mix. The shoe has a good cushion and padding, so it's very comfortable. The underlays are also built to withstand every day skating. But what do reviews say? From reading reviews, people love the shoe. There's countless reviews on how comfortable the shoe is, and as well as how long they last.

4. Vans Slip On

Vans Slip On

The next shoe down the list, the Vans Slip On. In my opinion, a very mid shoe. It's neither bad nor good. It will cost around $60-$70. This skate shoe fits very well, which I like. However, the insole will not last for super long like some of the other options. The shoe is made out of canvas, that will rip pretty fast. It also has padded collars, which means that the top of the shoe has extra support. This shoe is a great option for newer skaters in my opinion. It's the cheap option that will last enough time to get you started. Although I dont recommend this shoe for the experienced skaters who skate a lot. Because this shoe simply wont last for them.

5. New Balance Jamie Foy 306

New Balance Jamie Foy 306

The final shoe I will talk about, is the Jamie Foy 306. This Skate Shoe will cost around $90. The shoe features a durable suede and mesh. It also has a rubber underlay for even more durability. Overall the shoe has a very comfortable fit and it's overall fairly durable. There's loads of reviews too, so lets see what the people think. I've seen reviews saying that the skate shoe is ready out of the box. I saw a lot of people saying it's their best skate shoe.

Final Thoughts

These aren't the only skate shoes that are good either. There is other ones out there. You might not like one of these shoes, or the style of the shoe. And that's ok. There really isnt a set skate shoe thats good. It's all pretty subjective. But have a beautiful day and keep skating :)
